ALL CLASSES ARE MIXED-AGE

CLASS OVERVIEW

  • Teacher to Student Ratio: 1:8 for ALL CLASSES

  • FULL TIME CLASS: (child must have turned at least 3-years-old by September 1st, 2024)

    • ​​Classes available for 3-year-olds (child must have turned 3-years-old by September 1st,  2024)

      • Mixed-aged, 2-day-a-week class meeting on Tuesday & Thursday from 8am - 5pm

      • Mixed-aged, 3-day-a-week class meeting on Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8am - 5pm

      • Mixed-aged, 5-day-a-week class meeting Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm

    • Classes available for 4-year-olds and young 5-year-olds (child must have turned 4-years-old by September 1st, 2024)

      • ​​Mixed-aged, 5-day-a-week class meeting Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm

WHAT WILL MY CHILD LEARN

Our mixed age class focus is providing children with the skills and experiences they need to be ready for Kindergarten. Our teachers put an intentional emphasis on teaching children letters, numbers, name writing, as well as communication and self-help skills.

Each school day's format includes free choice, large group circle time, small group time, snack time, lunch time and outside play on our enclosed and expansive playground.

CURRICULUM

The curriculum for our class includes activities that center on math, science, music, art, cooking, oral language skills, social skills, and large & small motor skill development. Dramatic play is also included.

 

For our 4's and young 5's program follows the award-winning Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for handwriting skills and letter recognition.

 

In addition, we provide opportunities for spiritual development. Children will learn simple Bible stories, songs, and truths about God’s love and kindness.

 

Each week the activities in each room are changed providing a rich and engaging learning environment that continually holds the children's interest.

9:00-9:55          Free Choice Time, Children explore classroom activities at his/her own pace
9:55-10:00        Clean-Up Classroom Materials
10:00-10:20      Large Group Carpet Time, Songs, Music, Movement, Stories, Handwriting Without Tears, Calendar, Faith Curriculum
10:20-10:55      Small Group Table Time, Bathroom, Snack, Story, Cognitive Activity

10:55-11:00      Transition to Outdoor Playground
11:00-12:00      Playground Time

12:00-12:10      Transition to Classrooms

12:10-12:25      Bathroom Break & Hand Washing

12:25-12:50      Lunch

12:50-1:00        Closing Circle Time and Dismissal

4:10-4:30          Circle Time

4:30-5:00          Free Choice 

5:00                  Dismissal and Preschool Closes
